Claudia Diaz (0-2 MMA, 9-4-1 Muay Thai, 8-3 kickboxing) will have the shot of a lifetime when she takes on the fan favorite “Sexy” Dulce Garcia (2-0) in the upcoming all woman Combate Global: Combate Latina fight card.

A win for Diaz against the professional wrestler turned mixed martial artist Garcia would shake the sports world.

Both women will compete in a 118-pound bout airing live on television in the U.S. on Univision (12:30 am ET/PT) and TUDN USA (12:30 a.m. ET/9:30 p.m. PT), and in Mexico on Televisa Canal 5 (11:30 p.m. local time) on Friday, April 30 from Univision’s studios in Miami, Fla.

“I think she is a great fighter. I respect her,” she said. “She is genuine, and she is helping other women participate in this sport thanks to all of her followers that she has. It is fantastic.”

Training out of Phuket, Thailand, Diaz is in search of her first victory in mixed martial arts and she plans to earn it inside la jaula. She moved to the Asian country chasing her dream of becoming a better fighter.

In her training camp, Tiger Muay Thai she trains with top level athletes such as Bi Nguyen, Casey O’Neil and Mel Zeman. She’s been in Thailand for four years.

A friend of her invited her to train for the first time and from then on it motivated her to compete.

“However, the real motivation was me because I know where I come from and my past and also the person I have become thanks to martial arts.

Her first fight was six months after she started to train.

Today, she is emotional as she is about to enter la jaula for the firs time.

The personal trainer said fight fans can anticipate a fighter they can cheer for.

“Fans don’t know me so they don’t know what to expect of me, but I can a sure them I will give it my all. My intention is to give an exciting fight and I will do it. My opponent has all the pressure since she already is a star. I have nothing to lose,” she said.
