Combate Americas, in association with Tuff-N-Uff, today announced seven new Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) bouts for its much-anticipated world championship doubleheader event at Harveys in Lake Tahoe, Nev., on Friday, Aug. 23, live on television in the U.S. in Spanish, on both Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and UDN (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT),  and live in the U.S. and Canada in English on DAZN (9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT).

The event, which will take place at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys, will be headlined by a previously announced Combate Americas world bantamweight (135 pounds) title fight between reigning champion Gustavo Lopez (10-4-1) of Las Vegas, Nev. via Wapato, Wash. and challenger Joey “El Cazador” Ruquet (7-1) of Las Vegas via Sarasota, Fla.

In the co-main event and first-ever Combate Americas world featherweight (145 pounds) championship bout, 2018 “COPA COMBATE” eight-man tournament champion Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (18-2) of Roswell, N.M. will collide with Bruno “Aquiles” Cannetti (8-6) of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In one of three, featured main card bouts announced today, Maria Paula Buzaglo (2-1) of Lima, Peru will square off with unbeaten Felisha Magallan (1-0) of Fort Worth, Texas at strawweight (115 pounds).

A lightweight (155 pounds) main card contest will see Urijah Faber protégé Erick Sanchez (9-4) of Sacramento, Calif. collide with Jose Luis Verdugo (9-8) of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico.

In a featured women’s bantamweight matchup, Marilia “The Tigress” Fanta (3-0) of Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil will battle Chelsea Chandler (2-1) of Stockton, Calif.

Also announced today were four undercard bouts, beginning with a flyweight (125 pounds) tilt between undefeated Brandon Bettancourt (3-0) of Turlock, Calif. and Ramos Cruz (2-4) of Las Vegas, Nev.

Local upstart J.J. Torres (0-0) of Lake Tahoe will make his professional debut against Xtreme Couture team member Cole Jordan (0-0) of Las Vegas in a middleweight (185 pounds) matchup.

In another bout between two professional debut competitors Aaron Armijo (0-0) of San Jose, Calif. will meet Owen Craugh (0-0) of Reno at welterweight (170 pounds).

Boostayre Nefarios (2-3) of Las Vegas will face Tyler Cowan (1-2) of Reno at featherweight.
