MIAMI – February 21, 2024 – COMBATE GLOBAL today announced its first event of 2024 and complete fight card for Saturday, Feb. 24, live on UNIVISION at 12 a.m. ET/PT.

In the welterweight (170 pounds) main event of the three-fight broadcast, Marcos “El Lobo” Lloreda (13-8) will collide with Javier “El Cholo” Basurto (23-9).

The 31-year-old Lloreda is a native of Miami and will look for his third straight COMBATE GLOBAL victory, while Basurto, 34, hails from Machala, Ecuador, and has won six of his last eight bouts

Basurto holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and has earned 78 percent of his career victories by (T)KO or submission.

In co-main event action, unbeaten Veronica Vargas (2-0) will face off with Blanca Medina (1-1) in a women’s flyweight (125 pounds) contest.

Vargas, a 33-year-old former unbeaten amateur, will return to MMA competition for the first time since 2018, after pivoting her efforts to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu matches.

The 24-year-old Medina of Sevilla, Spain notched her first professional victory in La Jaula last September 23, defeating Alessandra Pajuelo via second round (3:39) submission (rear-naked choke).

Also in action on Saturday will be 23-year-old Brandon “El Prendido” Gonzalez (3-1) of Zacatecas, Zac., Mexico.  Gonzalez will take on Erik Villasmil (2-2) of Maracaibo, Venezuela in a bantamweight (135 pounds) contest.
