Miami, Fla-David “The Black Spartan” Martinez (6-1) defeated Francisco Riviera Jr. (14-8) at 17 seconds by way of KO in the second round to win the historic eight-man one night bantamweight tournament.

The event aired live from Miami, Florida’s Univision Studios. Martinez not only won the tournament but also took home $30,000.

In the first championship round, both fighters tested each other. Martinez connected with a right hand, but Rivera lived to fight another round.

A short after, Martinez continued with a flurry of kicks eventually shaking Rivera and bringing him to the ground. The Mexican followed with an arsenal of punches leaving no option but for referee to intervene and stop the fight.

Prior to getting to the finals, Martinez defeated Alex Gonzalez by way of TKO at 1:50 in the first round in quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, he defeated Alan Cantu by way of unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Rivera defeated Adam Martinez by way of TKO at 2:39 in the firs round, while in the semi-finals he was victorious against Nohelin Hernandez by way of unanimous decision.

The night also featured to reserve bouts, where Rodrigo Garcia defeated Eduardo Alvarado Osuna by way of unanimous decision and Leodegario Muniz bested Hector Fajardo also by way of unanimous decision.
