Fighting at home and representing Sacramento, California, Erick Sanchez (8-4) will try to get his fourth victory this Friday  inside “La Jaula“, when he faces Mexican mix martial artist Alex Velasco (8 -3) atCombate Americas: Stockton Presented by Cricket Wireless”

Sanchez is a Mixed Martial Arts veteran who has come a long way in the sport, going through multiple promoters and having excellent performances since he joined the company in 2015. He entered Combate Americas with a 4-2 record as professional including 2 TKO victories, and immediately put his mark on “La Jaula” when he submitted Rudy Morales in his debut in just two rounds. After a bloody first round where both fighters were exchanging punches, Sanchez managed to take the fight to the ground where he finished his rival with a rear naked choke.

The American fighter managed to add one more victory to his record outside the promotion before returning for Combate 5 to face Mike Segura, whom he victimized the same way as his previous opponent. Sanchez, with a 7-2 record at that moment, faced Andres Quintana at Combate 11, who defeated him by unanimous decision and became the only fighter to beat him in Combate Americas.

Sanchez is coming off a victory by decision against Randy Steinke at Combate 13, and although he was defeated in a fight outside the organization, looks to start a winning streak that takes him to the top of the division.

The Team Alpha Male product trains with Urijah Faber along with a group of high-level fighters for his next fight against Velasco, a submission expert who comes from a decision win last February. A point to highlight for Sanchez in this fight, is that he has never been submitted in his career as a professional and also has an exceptional ground game.
