Irlanda Galindo (1-1) said her lone lost in la jaula was worth the experience.

The young fighter joined Wendy Arellano, Combate Global’s women’s match maker, for a question and answer on Instagram Live.

She made her debut in August 2021 against Maraya Miller by way of rear naked choke in the second round. But she tasted defeat against the experienced Gloria Bravo.

“I gained a lot of experience,” said Galindo, who graduated high school and soon made her professional debut. “I wanted to (win) but if I didn’t, I wanted leave it all in the cage being there for three rounds with Gloria I was proud.”

However, a loss is a learning experience, and she has had other challenges in her life: she was born with no thyroid.

“(I didn’t have) no difficulties,” she said. “My parents found out about it when I was born. When they did the tests when I was a baby they found out I had no thyroid. If they didn’t treat it early, it could have impacted me, but I haven’t felt anything because I treated early. I take my medication. Thankfully I don’t feel it.”

Surely enough, her medical history has had no impact with her training. Currently, she trains with Renzo Gracie Polanco in Mexico. However, her martial arts experience started very early in her life, and she knew she wanted to be a mixed martial art after competing in tournaments.

The youngster also shares about her life as a fighter, hobbies, movies and more. Tune in to watch the interview. Combate Global will be hosting other one-on-one interview on Instagram. Tune into the social media account for the upcoming schedule.
