Washington state’s Marcos “El Toro” Lopez (5-2) has stepped up to face Combate Global’s former world champion Jose “Pochito” Alday (13-5-1).

The main event bout will air live this Friday, May 14, live on Univision (12 a.m./PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m./9 p.m. PT) in the U.S. and on TUDN MX (11 p.m. local time) in Mexico from Univision’s studios in Miami, Fla.

The show will also re-air in Mexico on Televisa Nueve the following day, Saturday May 15 at 5 p.m. local time.

Lopez trains with the Sik-jiujitsu in Spokane, Washington home to mixed marital arts veteran Michael Chiesa.

He is riding on a four-fight win streak with his latest win dating back to February of last year where he defeated Kyle McGrough by way of rear naked choke in the first round at 3:01.

Moreover, the majority of his victories have come by way of submission setting up a trap for Alday on the ground.

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Alday of Tucson, Ariz. via Hermosillo, Son., Mexico is a scrappy, battle-tested competitor whose relentless determination led him to become the first Combate world bantamweight champion in history on September 14, 2018 when he earned a majority decision over Gustavo Lopez.

Alday also boasts victories over John “Sexi Mexi” Castaneda and recent Combate Global fight winner Gianni “Kryptonita” Vazquez.

Also on the card, Dany Daniel Gonzalez (2-1) battles Martin Justiz (debut) in a featherweight battle; Ramiro Jimenez (4-0) will go toe-to-toe with Michael Rodriguez (3-1) also in a featherweight scrap; Jordan Beltran (10-6) and Jose Zarauz (21-7-1) will face off in a catchweight fight at 153 pounds and a featured women’s catchweight (110 pounds) contest will have Ana Palacios (4-1-1) vs Yajaira Cunningham (2-1).
