Miami, Fl– Steel is more than 1000 times more durable than iron. Maximiliano “Steel” Gonzalez more than lives up to his nickname, showing a resilient spirit displayed in his submission win against Bryce Gamboa in October of 2021: which earned him Comeback of the Year.

Gonzalez trains out of Academia Diosdado de Artes Marciales (A.D.A.M.) in Mexico City, a place he has called home since he was 15 years old. “I started off learning jiu jitsu. As you can see from my last fight it’s my main weapon of choice and biggest strength. Since then I’ve been trying to hone in on my boxing at White Collar Boxing,” Gonzalez said.

Alongside Gonzalez in his mixed martial arts journey is his brother, Miguel. The Gonzalez brothers not only compete alongside each other, but also “coach each other, train together, and spar”. “It’s a dynamic that has taken us to a very high level, we have each other’s backs. He’ll be in my corner in my upcoming bout and I’ll be in his next Friday,” Gonzalez added.

Gonzalez will be facing Axel Osuna as the main event for this upcoming Friday. “While I don’t know much about him, I’ve seen him in person. He seems confident, ready to fight and not scared of a challenge. It’s my first ever main event so I’ll be sure to put on a show for the fans, and hopefully treat them to a spectacular knockout”, Gonzalez remarked.

“I am extremely honored and excited to be headlining a show. I am grateful to Combate Global for this opportunity! I don’t know who I will be fighting next, but hopefully, it will be another main event.”
