MIAMI, FL (Dec 20, 2022) – Mexico City, Mexico-based Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) gym, Bonebreakers, was pronounced the winner of the Combate Global: Exclusivo reality series competition and the MX$1 million grand prize on the fourth and final episode of the show that is streaming on-demand on VIX+ in Mexico and the U.S., along with the three previous episodes.

Bonebreakers, in the final episode, defeated Miami-based rival gym, Goat Shed Academy, in two out of three Combate Global MMA bouts to claim first place in the four-episode competition that began with a total of four gyms.

“Bonebreakers pulled off an incredible victory in Goat Shed’s home city, and showed what it really means to ‘fight like a Mexican’,” said Combate Global, CEO Campbell McLaren.

The show’s other two gyms – Uppercut Training Center from Barcelona, Spain, and Saekson’s Academy from Los Angeles, Calif. – were previously eliminated from the competition among gyms. The final episode of the reality series covers the respective moments in which each was eliminated.

The three bouts that decided the outcome of the reality series competition were a bantamweight (135 pounds) contest between Loxbey Montalvan (1-0) of Goat Shed Academy and Daniel Gonzales (1-1) of Bonebreakers, a flyweight (125 pounds) matchup between Gerardo “Terrier” Graniel (10-4) of Bonebreakers and Adrian Garcia (7-2) of Goat Shed Academy and a 140-pound catchweight fight between Leonardo “Chimmy” Morales (12-7) of Bonebreakers and Ryan “Third Street Savage” Kuse (6-1) of Goat Shed Academy.

In the outset of the season finale, the score between Bonebreakers and Goat Shed Academy was reset to 0-0, thus starting each gym from a clean slate rather than have each begin with the number of points it had earned in each of the previous episodes (Goat Shed Academy had earned 8 points and Bonebreakers had earned 7 points, respectively, over the course of the first three episodes.).

Each gym would earn a point as a result of winning a bout in the series finale.

In the first fight of the final episode, Montalvan defeated Gonzales by way of TKO (punches) in the second round, putting Goat Shed ahead of Bonebreakers by a score of 1-0.

Bonebreakers mounted a stand in the next two fights, however, with Graniel earning a split decision over Garcia and Morales banking a unanimous decision over Kuse in the second and third fights, respectively, to give Bonebreakers the win by a margin of 2-1.

The first three episodes saw all four gyms facing off against each other in a series of bouts before the elimination of Uppercut Training Center and Saekson’s Academy.
