Combate Americas returns to Mexicali with a packed card full of talented fighters in a historical night, with the World Lightweight Championship on the line. First, however, the competitors had to beat a common opponent: the scale.

The ‘Combate Americas: Mexicali’ event is tomorrow night inside the Auditorio del Estado, and the weigh-ins were held this evening (September 19th).

Main event fighters Rafa “Gifted” García (154.9) and his opponent Erick “The Ghost Pepper” González (153.7) came in under the established weight of 155 pounds for their World Championship bout.

Monterrey youngster Jaír “El Lupe” Pérez (147) was above the agreed weight, so he must hand over 25% of his purse to his opponent. Eliezer Ortega (210) was also over the agreed limit and will give 35% of his purse to his opponent.

Combate Americas: Mexicali will take place tomorrow, Friday, September 20 and will be broadcast live on Spanish-language television in the U.S. on both Univision (12 a.m. ET / PT) and TUDN (12 a.m. ET / 9 p.m. PT) from the Auditorio del Estado.
